Education Counts 2010 Press Release

Welcome to the Curriculum Center and Education Library!

  Welcome to the Curriculum Center!

 Curriculum Center  CC Lab

It has been stated by Gail Godwin that, “Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theatre.” If this is true, then where do preservice teachers go to acquire the necessary materials to prepare great lessons and become effective teachers?

One great resource is the Curriculum Center located on the first floor of the J. Eugene Smith Library.  The Center offers a vast array of professional, reference, and educational materials and services to be used by pre-service teachers and educators already in the field. These materials are found in different formats throughout the Curriculum Center and on the Curriculum Center web site.  Additionally, a professional collection of theory related books concerning education topics can be found on the third floor of the library.  These books are cataloged in the Library of Congress format.

Stop by soon.  We have dedicated staff that can assist you with all of your educational needs!

Hope Marie Cook, M.Ed, MLIS, SYC.

Our Curriculum Center Mascots

These are African Dwarf Frogs named Janet and Mike.  We have picked this pair as our mascots because in the Curriculum Center we do everything as a team.  Stop by and enjoy our new members of the Curriculum Center and of course say hi to Clyde the snail who keeps the tank clean, aka Janet and Mike's housekeeper.
